If you are interested in psychotherapy, please schedule an initial consultation.

Although a variety of therapies have proven to be beneficial, clinical research has consistently shown that what is key to a successful therapy is having a good “fit” with your treatment provider. My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative and involves discussing what has happened in the past and understanding how that might inform present day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The process of making meaning and doing so through an open dialogue fits within both psychodynamic and narrative therapy modalities. In addition, my theoretical approach to therapy also aligns well with a social constructionist model. My treatment philosophy also involves considering one’s life viewed through a cultural lens.

Ultimately, the goal of psychotherapy is to have insight into one’s life and how it is we interact with our world. With insight comes understanding and an inquisitive approach that usually involves separating ourselves from harmful or irrational beliefs, resulting in a greater sense of well-being. In my view, in successful therapy the re-authoring of our lives happens both within and outside of the consulting room as new meanings shape how we feel and what we do.
